Of Recklessness and Water (Gojyo/Hakkai | PG | 1,412 words): Gojyo goes swimming, and Hakkai eventually joins him. Sweet and nicely understated. Gojyo's feeling lonely and needing confirmation; Hakkai's playful and kind of creepy.

Excerpt:
"I'm in my element. Come on in, Hakkai. The water's fine."

"Oh, I don't know," Hakkai said, a little frown drawing his eyebrows down. "The kappa might try to drown me. They're awfully unpredictable fellows, wouldn't you say?"

"Good point," Gojyo said. "Are you a priest who's so anal-retentive you shit only once a century?"

"No," Hakkai said with the tiny, mean grin he rarely let anyone else see.

Need (Gojyo/Hakkai | R | 1,007 words): Gojyo can't be anything anyone needs. Oh my. Gojyo and Hakkai, needy and desperate and a little sad.

Excerpt:
"What do you want?" he'd asked Hakkai more than once, and it had come out aggressive because he felt helpless, didn't know what to do, how to supply the need that was there, like an open wound.
