Don't Mention Demi Moore (Clint/Phil | PG13 | 14,599 words): After The Avengers, Phil Coulson returns as a ghost. This is a wonderful fix-it for the end of The Avengers, even if it was thoroughly jossed by later canon. I thought the explanation of what was happening made sense given canon, and more importantly I thought the Clint and Phil's emotions as they dealt with what was going on were realistic and touching.

Excerpt:
'He's here? Where?'

'Are spirits not visible in this world?'

'We don't have spirits in this world.'

The hubbub dies down a little as Rogers gets meaningfully to his feet, with a look of a person Doing the Right Thing. 'Hello Agent Coulson,' he says firmly. 'We're all very grateful to you for serving your country, sir.'

Clint snorts. That's Captain America all over, managing to slip in a tiny implied reprimand to the others that it's rude to talk about someone like they're not there. Which it is, but honestly, when confronted by a ghost people tend to focus on incredulity first and good manners a distant second.

Phil's all pink round the ears, looking at Clint with an expression as close as he ever comes to discomposure. 'Clint, Captain America just thanked me. Tell him I said… something. Anything.'

It's too good to miss. Clint turns a solemn, serious face to Rogers. 'He says yeah, you owe him one, but if he can get a naked picture of you he'll call it even.'

We'll Fight Like Twenty Armies (Clint, Foggy, Matt | G | 1,948 words): Clint finds a de-aged Daredevil and Foggy. This is just fun. Young Matt, Young Foggy, their reactions to everything, Clint's reactions to them -- it's all enjoyable.

Excerpt:
Clint decides a tactical retreat is in order. He backs up, trying to find the point where this kid will stop coming for him and go back to his protection duty. It takes about ten feet before the kid stops moving and Clint stops too, already fumbling for his phone. He shines the light in the direction he'd last seen movement.

It lands on a kid, panting slightly but not exhausted. Clint can only see the kid's chin as nearly his entire face is covered by a loose cowl...

Daredevil's cowl. Oh shit. The kid - no Daredevil - also has the remnants of his suit on and while it's baggy, someone has tied it at the waist and sleeves so it's not hampering movement. Tied it poorly actually, just like a child with limited resources would do.

'Daredevil?' The kid's head twitches but he gives no sign of recognition. 'Come on, you've not told me your name. Kid, come on. I'm here to help.'

'Says who?' A reaction. Thank fuck. 'Who are you?'

Oh right. Proof he's here to help. Clint really didn't think this through. 'My name is Clint, I'm uh, umm. I'm a superhero?'

'They aren't real.' So no memories from adulthood. That's not at all helpful. 'Are you with Stick?'

Every Friday After the War (Clint-Steve | PG13 | 3,134 words): Steve finds Clint post-Avengers. This is a great bonding moment for Clint and Steve, two soldiers both with their own regrets and trying to move forward.

Excerpt:
Steve turns his head to look at Barton, rests his cheek on his arms on the back of the chair. "He was your friend," he says, not a question this time.

For a long moment, there's no answer, then Barton exhales tiredly and reaches up to scrub one hand through his hair, rub the back of his neck, and for the first time since Steve's stepped through the door, it feels like Barton is there, in the room, a solid person rather than a negative space.

Five (Or More) Uses for a Tie (Clint/Phil | R | 9,451 words): Coulson's tie ends up being instrumental in a number of ridiculous missions. The missions are all great, every last one of them, full of banter and fun to read. The developing relationship between Clint and Phil (with Natasha off to the side mentally laughing at them) is delightful because of how well they work together while still being completely oblivious.

Excerpt:
"Barton, your bow is an expensive piece of SHIELD-issued weaponry. Not a component in an outdoor adventure park. Please try to remember that."

"Because your tie is obviously much better," Clint said. "A two hundred dollar tie will definitely survive the friction of a hundred foot drop along a zip line."

"It's more like a five thousand dollar tie," Coulson said, pulling the tie free with a snap.

"How...how is that even possible?"

There was just the hint of a smug smile at the corner's of Coulson's mouth and yeah, that was absolutely what Clint needed to see right at this moment.
