Murderworld Carnival's One Star Yelp Review (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 2,519 words): Arcade has kidnapped Foggy, and now Daredevil must face Arcade's many traps. This is a lot of fun, comic book-style shenanigans with some sweet Matt/Foggy.

Excerpt:
On the screen, Matt jolted, bringing his clubs up into a defensive position. When no attack was forthcoming, he relaxed his stance just slightly.

"I'm not in the mood for games today, Arcade!"

"Well that," Arcade sighed, "that is just too bad. Because you've got three exquisitely crafted floors to beat in my Murderworld if you want to rescue your precious Mr. Nelson. Hop to it, now. Who knows what might happen to him if you take too long?"

Matt's mouth twisted into a snarl, but he tilted his head the way he always did when trying to use his radar sense to map out a room. Then he began to stride forward.

A wall shot up in front of him, and Matt nearly faceplanted into it.

Cornflower Blue (Fisk/Wesley | PG13 | 1,258 words): Fisk has a request of Wesley. This has a wonderful character voice for Wesley, and I love how it looks at the relationship between Wesley and Fisk.

Excerpt:
It took a special kind of determination to have weathered an unarticulated promise to stay put on his aunt's farm in Iowa while he tended his high school resume and Fisk built his connections out on the east coast in the dark. It’d been tough. There had been no contact between them, and, as he put on years that, one by one, distanced him from the lovesick child who'd presented his departing neighbor with a bouquet of weeds from the unkempt fringes of his farm's cornfield, he'd often wondered if the phone would ever ring with the summons he’d convinced himself was coming.

But even then, his resolve hadn't wavered. He'd polished himself till the shine made him worth something: a business degree, foreign language skills, and social graces. And he'd been rewarded for his patience and hard work most handsomely with a place at Fisk's side and one half of his bed.

On the Anti-Magical Properties of Danny Rand's Bathtub Moonshine (Foggy-Matt | PG13 | 8,513 words): A spell turns Manhattan into a fantasy land, and for some reason Matt and Foggy are the only people who notice. This is so much fun. The new fantasy setting is full of whimsical details, and Matt and Foggy working as a team is great.

Excerpt:
Matt chewed his lower lip – his canine teeth looked a little more fang-y than they had before, "At least we got some information. We've got a limited amount of time left, because it sounds like the size is doubling every day. Two miles, then four more miles, then eight."

"... So, how long is that until it's everywhere?"

They both paused while Foggy took a minute with the calculator on his phone.

"Twelve days."

"So we better hurry, then," Matt said, grimly.

"We might have more time than that. The spell seems like it gets caught on running water, since it got stuck on the river, crossing the ocean might stop it for a while too," said Foggy.

Matt tilted his head, "How do you know that?"

"Uh… I'm not sure, actually," Foggy said. Apparently, this spell was dropping weird magic knowledge straight into his head.

Matt waved him off, "Besides that, we don't know how long we'll be immune."

The nights are lovely, dark and deep (But I'll appear when you're asleep) (Foggy-Matt | PG13 | 7,860 words): While chasing down a cult in Hell's Kitchen, Matt gets taken and Foggy has to find him. This is a perfect Halloween-y fic with a tense atmosphere as the plot unfolds.

Excerpt:
The list of missing in Hell's Kitchen never grew shorter. Eventually those who couldn't be missed would be declared dead, chased by banks and tax collectors after years of nothing. They'd been doing this for years. Decades even, a same monster beneath the ground supposedly demanding human flesh.

Each night he gained more information, and yet remained equally lost as to how to stop them. Injuries stacked up from distraction, from listening to conversations blocks away in hope of catching the right breadcrumb. Stitches he couldn't stretch, strained muscles that wouldn't relax as hard as he would try.

But even the worst injuries would be ignored in favour of running to a crying child. Of leaping over a rooftop and barely pausing as a wound ripped open, as her screams continued for her dad.

On The Usefulness of Fruit (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 15,989 words | sequel to Rose-Colored Boy): After getting seriously injured while out as Daredevil, Matt refuses to let Foggy see him. Oh, this is wonderful. Matt and Foggy fight, and it's such a realistic fight. My heart hurts for both of them, and the resolution of the fight is perfect.

Excerpt:
"No, um," [Matt] put his hand on his side and groaned with the pain throbbing there. His whole body throbbed with it. "Can you text Foggy for me?"

"Oh, yeah," [Claire] said. "You passed out while you were giving me the number."

She finished unpacking the stuff she got at the drugstore and then sat on the coffee table in front of him with her phone out. Matt gave her Foggy's phone number and Claire tapped out a simple message. Matt released a small sigh of relief. At least he could assure Foggy he was alive.

"He asks if he can come by?" Claire said a moment later.

Matt shook his head quickly, his memories blinking through That Unfortunate Night again, making him break out into a clammy sweat and his heart rate increased. He didn’t want Foggy to see him like this. He couldn't have Foggy see him like this.

"No." He said. "Just tell him I'll be home in a day or two."

"Matt," Claire groaned.

"Please," Matt said, his eyebrows furrowing. "Please just say that."

More Precious Than Gold (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 1,630 words): Matt, a dragon, has something he wants to show Foggy. This is sweet and precious and wonderfully fluffy.

Excerpt:
"They're so big! Are… Are these your eggs?"

Matt curled tighter around the clutch.

"They're mine now," he said, because that much was true. "They… They were left to me, by someone very important. You… Can touch one. If you want."

Foggy did, then gasped.

"It's so warm…"

"It's coming out of hibernation," Matt explained. "After a long, long time."

Foggy continued to stroke the closest egg, and a wave of contentment — weak, fluttering, distinct from his own — washed over Matt. His heart constricted with a joy so fierce it was almost painful.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecies (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 9,576 words): There's a prophecy that Foggy's going to get taken by a dragon, so he stays in the city and instead meets one Matt Murdock. This is a wonderfully fun urban fantasy with sweetness and cuteness, and I love how Foggy's prophecy comes true.

Excerpt:
Drunk Matt was a delight. Foggy wanted him around forever. He bounced on his toes, he giggled, he didn't get that twisted and frustrated look on his face when his stammer cropped up. And best of all, he and his freakishly warm furnace body cozied right up to Foggy's side. A delight.

Foggy wanted to kiss him.

He didn't, because even Drunk Foggy knew that was a horrible idea. But... He wanted to.

Instead, he just watched. Savored the unguarded way expressions flickered over Matt's face. Giddy, then determined, then... Well, then Matt tilted his head and stuck out his tongue. But not in the thoughtful 'poke my tongue out the corner of my mouth as I work' way — no, he'd gone full on 'stretch out my tongue as far as it goes'.

"What are you doing, buddy?" Foggy laughed. "It's not quite the season for catching snowflakes on your tongue yet."

Matt looked startled for a second, then adorably puzzled. He tucked his tongue back into his mouth, brows still scrunched together.

"I didn't want to catch a snowflake," he told Foggy. "I was trying to get a better sm—"

Matt cut off, then, shaking his head the way Foggy sometimes felt the urge to do, as though it would fling off the haze of drunkenness like rainwater.

"Get a better what?"

"No, it." Matt shrugged, posture awkward and embarrassed. "It's nothing."

5 times foggy met daredevil (and 1 time he didn't) (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 9,694 words): An alternate meeting where Foggy doesn't know Matt and gets to know Daredevil first. This is sweet and cute and a lot of fun.

Excerpt:
"Are you arguing that this wasn't on purpose, councilor?"

"I'm arguing that me putting myself in danger once is in no way equivalent to what you do and that my risking my life for the sake of another person does not equate to being mugged for a second time, therefore you have no right to neither judge me nor condemn me."

"Fair enough. Does the defense rest?"

"The defense rests in the case of Nelson v. Masked Man."

The masked man laughed, sharp and short but genuine.

"Well, Mr. Nelson, given that convincing argument I'm going to sentence you to me following you home to ensure you don't decide that I'm leading by example and try to stop another dangerous situation."

Sais and Butter Knives (Elektra/Elektra | PG13 | 9,212 words): When Elektra is resurrected as the Black Sky, she comes back as two people. This is an interesting exploration of Elektra and her desires and the different aspects of her, and I like that it gives her space to be her own person.

Excerpt:
"Who am I?"

She returns to the mirror as she asks that question. She asks Elektra's scars as if they can tell her. They can't. She doesn't recognise herself. She doesn't know Elektra and she doesn't know the Black Sky.

She wants to know Elektra. She wants to know why she doesn't need her anymore. Elektra knows things. She knows who she is. Not the Black Sky, but… someone. How can she find Elektra? Alexandra won't tell her.

Romantic Things You Said While Concussed (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 4,344 words): Matt comes back to their college dorm room with a concussion, leading to some truths to be confessed. This is sweet and funny and a nice alternate take on Foggy fidning out about Matt's past and senses.

Excerpt:
"'m tired," Matt mumbles afterwards, twisting the cap back into the half-empty water bottle and flopping back on Foggy's bed. "Foggy. Keep me awake. You promised."

He didn't, actually, but Matt's his best friend so the promise is kind of implied. He's just not sure the best way to keep it. If they were studying and trying to pull an all-nighter, he'd whap Matt with a pillow, but he's not willing to do that when Matt's all beat up.

"Come on, Matt, let's play Truth or Dare, ok? That'll keep you awake, huh?" Foggy says, taking Matt's free hand and hauling him back to a sitting position; even to his own ears his voice sounds strained.

"I don't like truth," Matt replies mulishly, and all Foggy can do is bark out a laugh.

"Yeah, buddy, I know."

"But I like you, Foggy."

A Little Fright (Foggy/Matt, Dany | PG13 | 1,445 words): Foggy has to rescue Matt from a witch. This is fun and has Foggy being appropriately awesome and has a nice sense of humor.

Excerpt:
"What do we do?" he whispers to Danny.

Danny frowns for a second. It's hard to see his full expression due to the dim lighting and his mask, but he seems contemplative. Hopefully coming up with a smart plan.

"You go get Matt from the cage. I'll stop the witch. Ok?"

Foggy waits a few more seconds, but that appears to be it.

"Uh. Ok."

A little bit barebones, but he can work with it.

...Stay out of the Kitchen (Foggy/Matt, Frank | PG13 | 2,869 words): After getting in trouble, it's up to Foggy for the rescue. This is fun with a light humor that I enjoyed.

Excerpt:
"Time to move," Daredevil barked.

"Really," Foggy hissed, thumping him with the umbrella as well. "On this of all nights?"

"Time to move," Daredevil growled again, lower. He shoved Foggy along the brick wall, toward a fire escape.

Foggy sighed and began rolling up his sleeves. "I hate this part."

Matt allowed himself a small grin. More shots fired from far above. "Cardio's a great workout," he said as he snatched the umbrella from Foggy's hand and used the hooked handle to pull down the ladder with a clang.

"We could be having perfectly safe cardio in the comfort of our own home on the couch--" Foggy began but Matt was already hoisting him up the ladder by the armpits. "--Are you bleeding?" Foggy interrupted himself.

"Not now."

"I just washed that suit!"

On her shoulders (Karen-Foggy-Matt | PG13 | 21,578 words): An AU where Karen has Matt and Foggy as the literal demon and angel on her shoulders. This is a cute AU with lovely friendship between the trio and a fun plot for Karen to investigate.

Excerpt:
"So, you've got any plans for the weekend?" Foggy asked and landed back on her right shoulder. His weight light and easy, but it was a comforting presence.

"Not for today", Karen shook her head. "But tomorrow I'll visit Amy." Amy was one of her friends from college.

"Okay, so what if…"

"Foggy", Matt warned as he landed on her left.

"What?"

"Don't give Karen suggestions on what to do if she haven't asked for it."

"I was just going to remind her that—"

"If it isn't urgent, it can wait until she asks you for it. Karen doesn't need to stress about unnecessary things."

"Fine. It's not urgent."

She went to the kitchen to make dinner for herself. Matt informed her that her milk would soon become bad and Foggy suggested she could make pancakes to use it up, to not let it go to waste. So, pancakes it was.

Meat Cute (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 3,273 words): A different first meeting for Matt and Foggy where Matt's a regular at Nelson's Meats. This is a cute meet cute with an intriguing ending.

Excerpt:
"Thanks," he said, looking back up at Matt. "Um. I guess I should get going and let you enjoy your sandwich."

Foggy turned to go.

"Foggy?"

He paused.

"… Yeah?"

"Are you, um." When Foggy glanced back, it was to see Matt anxiously toying with his wallet. "I mean. Are you doing deliveries from now on, then?"

It was difficult to parse the tone in his voice. Did he want the answer to be yes? Or would he prefer to go back to getting his sandwiches delivered by Theo?

Where Credit Was Due (Foggy/Matt, Mike | PG13 | 9,398 words): Mike convinces Foggy to pretend to date him as a way to play a prank on Matt. This is hilarious and dramatic and sweet at turns.

Excerpt:
Matt had promised himself he'd try. But as anyone Matt Murdock had ever promised soon found out—try as he might, it didn't hold. He had yet to make it inside Foggy's apartment before the idea had already begun to slip insidiously through his fingers. As it went, like sand through an hourglass, a budding sense of dread took its place.

There were two things amiss. The first he'd clocked more than a block out. It would have been hard not to: Mike was a singular presence. If it wasn't his full-throated and seasonally inappropriate rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," then it would have been Foggy's impassioned plea to stop ogling his ass. Matt's cane caught on a crack in the sidewalk. He really should have confirmed with Foggy about the guest list.

The second realization hit in two stages, with the latter giving meaning to the first. Three brownstones down, some disturbed earth in a planter. On the other side of Foggy's door, a scraggly bouquet of flowers clinging to that same newly dug-up scent. There was only one conclusion to be drawn. Foggy's new lover was not only cheap but a scoundrel. Matt curled his lip out on the welcome mat. Whenever that lowlife returned from whatever last-minute errand Foggy'd likely had him run out to do, Matt was going to make his displeasure known.

All According to Keikaku (Foggy/Matt, Otomo | PG13 | 4,906 words): Matt has been distracted from his work, and Otomo has a plan to get him back on track and it involves dating Foggy Nelson. This is a lot of fun and very funny, and Otomo's dry point of view reall works

Excerpt:
"So where does the DA go when he needs to unwind?: Ōtomo asked as they paused their walk, both standing to the side while Nelson fished out a water bottle he'd brought and took a sip. "Do you come here, or do you have a secret haunt somewhere else?"

Nelson laughed sharply, as though he hadn't meant to. "The DA spins in only one direction," he said, wiping his sweaty forehead with the back of his hand before capping his bottle again. "No unwinding for me, I'm afraid. Shall we?"

He motioned them forward, but Ōtomo noticed he failed to take a step himself, instead hanging back. "Are you alright, Foggy?"

Nelson blinked at him, seemingly dazed. "I just got a shiver, that's all," he said quietly, shaking his head.

He caught up to Ōtomo and kept going, a briskness to his walk that hadn't been there before. Ōtomo smiled. He looked discreetly upward and scanned the building tops until he found what he was looking for. His phone call with the DA earlier to confirm their plans hadn't gone unmissed. Master Murdock had taken the bait, and he would reach the very conclusion Ōtomo had been leading him to.

The One Who Holds the Seven Stars (Jack/Stephen | PG13 | 498 words): The Surprise weathers a terrible storm. This was written for the Day After Tomorrow Challenge and is an interesting ficlet about what it would be like for an apocalypse in the Age of Sail.

Excerpt:
Jack had never seen the like in his many years at sea. The storm tore 'round the Surprise, then through it as though with teeth. Snow fell, disconcerting considering their location, and sleet came down in sheets, icing deck and men alike.

Whichever you are, i love you (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 7,029 words): Matt wakes up looking like a demon; Foggy helps him. This is a really sweet fic with Foggy helping Matt to accept the changes he's undergone.

Excerpt:
Matt nodded and turned his head away. "I didn't know– I only know what I can feel. I–" Matt wheezed out a terrified breath and forced himself to ask, "What does it look like, Foggy?"

Ready to do something he was more used to, Foggy cleared his throat and straightened his back the littlest bit. "Um, your– the horns are dark gray. And so are your fingers. From the second knuckle down, like they're covered in… coal dust, or something. And the tail–" Foggy's voice broke and he gulped down a breath. "The tail is kind of dark red."

Matt struggled to hold back tears and licked his lips. Foggy gasped sharply– he must not have noticed the tongues before. Scrubbing a clawed hand across his face, Matt said, "I'm sorry, Fogs. I don't know… I don't know why this is happening."

Foggy paused, then took a hesitant step forward, arm half outstretched. Immediately, Matt took a long step backward and held a warning hand out to Foggy. "Foggy, don't– I don't want to hurt you." Absentmindedly, Matt stroked his fingers over the spot on his stomach where he'd scratched himself when he woke up, but there was no cut in his skin, no scar or blood to be found.

Hornhead (Matt | PG13 | 10,599 words): Matt begins to develop...demonic features, starting with waking up with horns. This is a fun comics-style romp.

Excerpt:
"Maybe they're just... stuck on?" Matt had said desperately after Foggy had collected himself. He didn't really want to touch them. Maybe if he didn't accept them as part of reality, they'd vanish as suddenly as they appeared.

"They look pretty... part-of-your-skull-y, Matt."

Matt sat down at his kitchen table, almost buried his head in his hands before he remembered he didn't want to touch anything. He settled for slouching and feeling lost at sea. Okay. Deep breath. "What do they look like?"

"I mean, they're not crazy. They're like the ones on your mask. Red. Kinda ... dinky?"

You Always Kill My (Sugar) High (Gwen-Matt | PG13 | 7,116 words): Gwen convinces Matt Murderdock to chaperone her and her friends while they trick-or-treat. This is a super fun fic with great character interactions, a lot of humor, and a bit of scary as befitting a Halloween fic.

Excerpt:
"You've certainly gotten very comfortable making demands, Gwendolyn."

And there he went, doing the Big Bad Kingpin pose, his feet shoulder-width apart and the white cane that also served as a sheath for his katana planted firmly between them. But she wasn't going to be cowed.

"I learned that from you," she told him, poisonously sweet.

And... There. The implication that she was learning from him, beginning to take after him, sent a flicker of— pride, maybe? — across his face. Which was, of course, the moment that Gwen realized it was probably true. She'd hardly picked up this calculated manipulation from anyone else. Gwen pushed the thought away before Murdock could smell out her weak point, or whatever it was he did. This was for her friends.

Murdock blew out a breath and rolled his shoulders a little as the silence stretched between them. And then another flicker of a smile passed across his face, barely there before it was gone.

"I can't imagine your father would approve of my chaperoning you," he pointed out with an 'oh well, what can you do' kind of shrug. "Nor your friends' parents."

Wow. He really thought he had an ace in the hole with that one, huh? Gwen had to bite her lip to keep from laughing.
