Conjugal Visit (Charles/Erik | G | 100 words) has Charles finding out a way to visit Erik in prison. The drabble manages to pack a lot into a mere hundred words, and it puts a smile on my face.

Excerpt:
"What sort of visit?"

"It was the only way they'd let me in to see you," Xavier explains patiently.

That She Hath Thee (Harry/Ron/Hermione | R | 2,295 words) has Harry jealous of Hermione because she has Ron. Harry/Ron/Hermione is a pairing that I like in theory but have trouble figuring out how they go from being just friends to a relationship. This story makes it work pretty well. To me, there's a gentleness present that acknowledges how precious these three are to each other, whatever their relationship might be.

Excerpt:
"He said he was jealous of you. And I said, 'over me?' and he said, yes."

Hermione's hands rubbed at his shoulders; her warm, strong, capable hands. "And then what happened?"

"And then, nothing. I mean, I sort of. We sort of ... held onto each other for a while. And he said he couldn't let things like this get in the way right now anyway, so it was just as well I was with you and all was said and sifted."

"By 'things like this' he meant what, do you reckon?"

"I'm not sure I know. But I'm a little afraid he means all human feeling when he says it."

Snow and Infomercials (Frostbite/Off-Ramp | PG | 2,304 words) has Frostbite and Off-Ramp taking a vacation in Canada. There are, I think, only two fics in existence for this comic, which is a shame because it was a fun comic. Luckily, this fic is good. It's sweet and it's slow and just all-around nice.

Excerpt:
"So this is Canada. Nice. Bleak."

"I think so." Frostbite turned and looked at the gruff man, watching him light a cigarette and inhale sharply as he closed his brown eyes and scratched his sideburn. Frostbite shook his head, noting the look of dissatisfaction on the other man's face and angry at it. "Are you cold?"

"Nope."

Frostbite withheld the snide, bitter comment that threatened its escape. This was a lot easier when he was drunk. "George ..."

"Don't ruin it," he said simply, his back turned to the blue-hued man and trying very hard to appear as potentially hopeful as he felt.

Liamiellion of Eire (Angel | G | 317 words) features an inappropriate elf. Very much on crack and very funny.

Excerpt:
Angelus squeezed his eyes shut. "It's true. I'm... an elf." He opened them just in time to see Darla hit the floor, Drusilla rushing to her aid.

Spike just blinked at him for long moments.

"Well?"

"It explains the nanciness."

Telling the Truth (Clark/Lex | PG13 | 1,733 words) has Clark deciding to tell his friends he's an alien. It doesn't work out quite as he planned. I think this is very giggle-inducing.

Excerpt:
"Chloe this might be hard for you to believe, but...I'm an alien."

For a moment, there was just stunned silence.

"Are you sure?" asked Chloe.

"Yes. It's pretty obvious."

"I don't think so. You look like an All-American boy to me. So, tell me, where did your parents adopt you from?"

"What?"

"Come on, Clark. What country were you born in?"

Scrabble (ensemble | G | 2,578 words) has the Slytherins playing a very competitive version of Scrabble. Any fic that features a board or card game is probably going to interest me. This one is fun and amusing to boot.

Excerpt:
Finally, admitting defeat, he signaled that he wanted to take his last time out, by waving his hands madly and kicking his feet. A gong sounded and the bag hopped off his face. Malfoy, by this time half-suffocated, sucked in a long, shuddering breath and glared at it. It just waved a corner and toddled off, back to its resting place.

He fell back to the floor and lay still, not capable of much else. Madame Pomfrey rushed to his side and quickly checked him over, all the while muttering about Mad Snakes and silly games. "You seem to be fine, Mr. Malfoy, but I wouldn't suggest another go with the bag."

"How do you suggest I play, then?" he sneered. "Oh I know, maybe if I ask it nicely, it'll give up letters!"

"Perhaps," she said, clearly short of patience. "You should stop playing." A collective gasp sounded from the crowd.

"Are you mad, woman?" Zabini jumped to his feet, waving his letter holder. "We are Slytherin, and therefore we play!"

Random Snippet (John/Wally | PG | 372 words) has John and Wally going on a picnic. Cute and fun with a good Wally and a good John.

Excerpt:
Before they reached the river, Flash had told him everything about his junior high school, the women he'd wanted to date, the women he'd *actually* dated -- maybe -- his sixteen favorite restaurants in Central City, and...

John's head was starting to hurt.

Wally's Secret (Wally | G | 479 words) has Wally as a secret virgin. I adore Wally, I really do.

Excerpt:
There's nothing wrong with it. It's not like he's a *freak* or something.

He *knows*. And it's not like he doesn't *want* to. God, does he want to. And he knows that if he just found someone he could talk to about things, about *everything*...
