Alchemist (Edward Elric, X-Men ensemble | PG13 | 4,462 words): Edward Elric, as observed by ten different mutants. This is a neat outsider perspective on an Ed trapped in the world of the X-Men movies.

Excerpt:
Wolverine wasn't the poetical type. He would rather slice up some Brotherhood pawns than think about the reasons they became Brotherhood pawns in the first place. He was a very look-at-the-surface-only kind of guy. It's worked out pretty well for him so far.

But he made an exception for Edward Elric, because on the surface Elric was a brawler and a scholar and a mutant, and on top of all that he had a conscience that despised killing, discrimination, and corruption. And they found him with the Brotherhood, which made no sense because they were all three of those things.

A Love Transcending Boundaries (Pinako/Armstrong | PG13 | 188 words): Armstrong flirts with Pinako. Oh, just from the pairing, you can tell this is the good sort of crack. It's short, bizarre, and fun.

Excerpt:
He'd done his best to flirt with her subtly, prove he could be useful around the place.

Unapporoved Project (Ed-Al-Roy | PG | 3,031 words): Ed and Al have a side project Roy doesn't know about. It's nice to see the Elrics doing something with alchemy that's not so prone to doom, especially given that they are both talented alchemists.

Excerpt:
The laboratory was filled with plants in various stages of bloom. Most of them were vegetables, but there were a few flowers as well. Roses, chrysanthemums, daffodils, Roy noted, trying to comprehend what he was seeing. A nearby desk was covered with sheets of paper and books, and a large chart was affixed to the far wall. It appeared to be a measurement of something, but from this distance Roy couldn't tell what of. Whatever it was, it appeared to be climbing steadily.

"Oh DAMN!" Fullmetal cursed.

Startled, Roy and Gilwarden turned to where Fullmetal was angrily watching a tomato plant wither and turn to dust. Fullmetal reached over behind the plant and yanked out a time measure, "Al! Clock this one in at four hours and seventeen minutes."

Training (Hawkeye | PG13 | 1,311 words): What it was like when Hawkeye was first hired as Roy's aide. Ahahaha, Hawkeye is both amazing and awesome.

Excerpt:
Havoc was absolutely correct. It was a terrible morning. Hawkeye had visibly been taken aback by the mountains of paperwork stacked up around the office, and had only been mildly mollified when she realised that this was not from lack of effort on the staff's part, but because their CO had failed to sign off on anything.

"Has the Lieutenant Colonel been on an active assignment recently?" she inquired eventually, turning over another set of reports that required his initals before they could be sent off for filing.

Fury crimsoned, and Farman and Breda both suffered sudden coughing fits. Havoc looked heavenward and prayed for divine intervention.

Mission Report (Roy-Ed | PG | 359 words): Ed is not looking forward to turning in his mission report. Hee, this is basically just a little setup and a joke, but it always makes me smile.

Excerpt:
Ed glared at the door to Mustang's office balefully. He'd be in there for an hour, getting a lecture about how he "really must control that temper of his" and how "military buildings were not created for your personal experimentation areas".

Family Man (Roy-Hawkeye-Ed | PG | 478 words): Ed helps Hawkeye get back at Roy. This is hilarious and just short enough so that it doesn't wear out the joke.

Excerpt:
"Oh Daaaad..."

Roy stiffened as someone tugged at his sleeve, and looked down.

Golden eyes gleamed up at him in evil amusement.

Breaking the Dogs (Roy Mustang-Maes Hughes | PG13 | 3,314 words): Hughes helps Roy deal after Ishbal. Oh, poor Roy's in pain and hurting after he comes back, but he's slowly coping. And Hughes is doing the best he can to help his friend.

Excerpt:
"Don' hav' t' take care o' me."

Hughes frowned, caught off guard by the statement and the hurt managing to show behind the haze of alcohol.

"'M doin' fine, right? You can see that..." Roy's arm sketched a clumsy circle as he gestured toward the main room of the apartment.

Hughes blinked once in confusion before sighing as he managed to follow Roy's somewhat off-kilter train of logic. "Of course you're doing fine. I never said you weren't. The fact that you're not trying to kill yourself through alchemy has nothing to do with my not wanting to just drop you somewhere unable to defend yourself, though."
