Why You Don't Do Magic in the Library (ensemble | G | 456 words): The Young Avengers end up in the library of Unseen University. It's fun seeing the Young Avengers interacting with some of Discworld's inhabitants.

Excerpt:
The tubby young man who had been introduced to Eli as Ponder Stibbons hand spent the last hour trying to explain just why Billy's teleportation spell had landed them in another dimension as they had hunted for the rest of the team. Rincewind had simplified it to "Books warp reality," and left it at that.

Vehicle-for-getting-places-across-water (Leonard of Quirm, Stephen Maturin | G | 249 words): How could anyone not want to see Leonard and Stephen working together?

Excerpt:
"Yes. It's called my Coffee-Keeping-Warmer-Thingy. It's in the -- the cabin where all the officers --"

When Chidder Met Teppic (Chidder/Teppic | PG13 | 2,662 words) is Pyramids told through Chidder's point of view. This is nicely fluffy and makes me want to reread Pyramids. Plus, footnotes are always fun.

Excerpt:
When they heard the news about what had transpired in the kingdom of Djelibeybi from fellow traders, Chidder had quite frankly found it incredulous and suspected that it was a tale of pure fiction. Ptraci seemed to believe it, though, and it was her country, so Chidder decided to just go with the flow. When she came up with the crazy plan of being delivered to Teppic in a carpet carried by him, he found it ridiculous. He agreed to go along with it, though, just on the off-chance that he'd get to see Teppic one more time6.

Seeing Teppic again, somehow more mature in the months since they'd seen him, Chidder felt his heart skip a beat. Shock, he told himself. Shock that things had changed. Chidder didn't believe in stupid romantic notions. He hadn't expected anything this time, and was surprised to find himself upset when Teppic and Ptraci left to talk in private.

6 The thought of asking Tepp to choose between them never crossed his mind. Mainly because it was too scared of incurring the wrath of his conscious self.

Curtain Call (Death/Vetinari | G | 537 words) is a curtain fic starring Death and Vetinari. Aww, Death is adorable here. And the tone/wording is very similar to the books, which makes it fun to read.

Excerpt:
HOW ABOUT THIS ONE? said Death. He held up a swathe of black cloth dotted with cheerful white bunnies.

Correction: cheerful white bunny skulls.

Vetinari doubted the fabric had existed before Death had walked into the shop, but Death had a way of changing reality around him without even noticing it. It came with the job. Life was strange when you were an anthropomorphic personification.

It was even stranger when you were conducting a relationship with one.

The commentary's fun too.

Only the Force, They Said (OC, Death | G | 853 words) has a Jedi meeting Discworld's Death. The story's silly and good, which makes it fun to read.

Excerpt:
Jedi do not panic. This is why Gabri was not panicking.

"Oh, Force, I'm dead!"

HOW PERCEPTIVE, said a voice like the crashing of mountains behind him.

Gabri screamed. He whirled around, saw a figure in a robe, and screamed. He looked up into twin pools of blue light. Just for the heck of it, he screamed again.

Tourists (ensemble | PG | 490 words) is a little thing with a rather abrupt change of pace in the middle. The change is a little too abrupt for me, but the two bits are wonderful. First cheery and humorous, then very creepy. And both moods fit. ...I don't think I'm explaining very well, but that's my fault and not the snippet's.

Excerpt:
'The city's wonderful too,' the tourist said politely. 'So full of character.'

This was of course true, although Cheery felt she should probably warn him that tourists were well advised to stay away from the parts with the most character, especially if they wanted to continue visiting places in this world rather than the next.
