Autoshop (Donatello-Raphael | G | 1,721 words): Donatello and Raphael, working on their vehicles together. This is a lovely quiet moment for these two with brotherly bonding.

Excerpt:
They'd been here for quite a while, just working. Both turtles were coated in grease and were quite happy that way. The only words passed between them, the occasional requests for various tools. Raph had been slightly startled by Donatello's question. He had actually forgotten that his brother was there. Even with the tool noises Don invariably made from time to time, it was still easy to forget about the quiet turtle's presence.

Even though it was easy to tune out the fact that Donatello was there at all, the turtle in purple did bring a sense of calm to the warehouse that wasn't present at any other time. Tools were much less likely to be thrown when Donatello was around than when Raph was alone or if Casey was there working with him. Raph was always careful with the expensive ones, but wrenches would fly on a fairly regular basis. He didn't quite know what it was, but he never got as frustrated when Donnie was around.

Matt Murdock, Otterney at Law (Matt, Fisk | PG13 | 1,102 words): What if Matt were a literal otter? This is hilariously silly and fun, especially since Fisk is the only one who can see that Matt is an otter and not a human.

Excerpt:
"Look at the photo, Wesley," orders Fisk. "That is an otter."

Wesley stares obediently at the photo of the Man in Black for ten long seconds.

"A…" He drops his gaze to tap something into his PDA, brow furrowed. "Lean, hairy gay man? Granted he's certainly got body hair but, I don't think we can speculate on—"

"No," Fisk cuts him off with the sweep of one large hand. "The aquatic mammal. Wesley, look again. Look harder. Does the man in this photo have hands or paws?"

Under the Water (Foggy/Matt | G | 1,220 words): Matt and Foggy have a late night conversation. This is really sweet and affectionate.

Excerpt:
"You were in my dream last night."

"Well, I think I like where this is going."

Matt huffed and Foggy relented, kissing him lightly on the corner of his mouth. "Okay, okay. Tell me about your dream."

"We were having a picnic."

If You Can't Say Anything Nice (Statler, Waldorf | G | 1,250 words): The reason why Statler and Waldorf heckle The Muppet Show every night. This is silly and fun, just like the Muppets.

Excerpt:
Fifteen minutes later, Waldorf popped the last of the pastries into his mouth. "Shall we?"

"Might as well get this over with," Statler grumbled. "Maybe we'll be able to catch up on our sleep."

They succumbed to the inevitable and slid into their seats as the curtain rose. Over the first few acts, they progressed from raised eyebrows to muttered comments to an unrestrained commentary on the show. People around them tried to shush them, but it wasn't until the beginning of the fourth act that things went to pot.

Gently, gently (Foggy-Matt | G | 1,917 words): Foggy and Matt heal their friendship after Elektra. This is comforting and, ultimately, very sweet.

Excerpt:
The third time Elektra leaves Matt, Matt doesn't think about Foggy. Not for a long time.

When he finally surfaces from his grief, after Fisk and Dex, after Father Lantom's death and Maggie's revelations, he sits down with Foggy in his apartment for Chinese and beers and tries to talk.

He wants to be known, wants Foggy to know him, to understand him. He doesn't know where to start. It's Foggy that gets them going.

Intimacy (Deanna/Will/Worf | PG13 | 2,108 words): Worf muses on second0hand intimacy. This is a really sweet get-together fic while also being a meditation on past relationships and their impacts.

Excerpt:
There was a kind of shocking intimacy with romantic relationships that extended far beyond the individual with whom you were having the relationship. Not only were you privy to their most private thoughts and dreams and moments of sweet vulnerability… you were privy to those of their previous partners.

Worf was not quite sure he liked how much he knew about the morning routine of Commander Riker.

Information that Worf could only have known otherwise if he had himself been in an intimate relationship with the ship’s first officer had been passed carelessly and casually into his hands by Deanna in the middle of unrelated anecdotes. Sometimes she would see something that struck her as hilarious and he would, all innocence, ask for her to elaborate and then be treated to fresh intelligence about the joys and pitfalls of courting William T. Riker. Worf felt that he could possibly write a book on the subject, at this point, for future potential Mrs. Rikers to consult.

It was not that he was jealous. He did not even really mind that Deanna had as much as told him that a part of her would always love Will. It seemed churlish of him to begrudge her that when a very large part of him would always love K'ehleyr.

Lost (Foggy/Matt | G | 1,733 words): When Matt's senses get muted, he can still recognize Foggy. This is a lovely fic that sweetly shows what Foggy means to Matt.

Excerpt:
Without the other senses, Matt's radar wasn't as detailed as he was used to so he couldn't even figure out where he should go.

It was disorienting and it left him feeling incredibly vulnerable and exposed. He was so used to the world being unbearably full that, with it emptied, he didn't even know how to hold himself.

Despite his best efforts, the panic climbed up his chest, clawing at his heart and lungs. Threatening to close his throat.

But before it took over, he detected something.

It was on the very edge of his perception, but clearly there. And without thinking, Matt made his way toward it because everything inside of him told him he should, and that voice was his only guide.

Needed Me (Foggy/Matt | R | 1,210 words): Matt joins Foggy in bed after patrol. This is sweet and romantic and fun and domestic. I like the way they tease each other.

Excerpt:
"So a real quiet night," Foggy mused, eying the quirk of Matt's lips.

"Almost too quiet," Matt pointed out and Foggy snorted because he knew where this was going.

"And here you are with all your pent up ninja energy and nothing to do with it," Foggy teased.

"I could do you with it," Matt shot back.

"Matthew Murdock, I should wash your mouth out," Foggy gasped, one hand pressed dramatically to his forehead as he rolled onto his back. "To think a catholic boy would suggest something like that to a married man."

"I'm sure your husband wouldn't mind," Matt whispered, his fingers curling around Foggy's ankle.

Xiang (Lung Tien Lien, Napoleon | G | 2,250 words): Lien and Napoleon discuss strategy against England. This is just a really neat scene featuring Lien's perspective.

Excerpt:
And where was the Emperor? When she pressed him, earlier, on his plans to go after England, he had said he would meet with her here, once he had finished counseling with his generals. She was not accustomed to being kept waiting. She snorted, and her breath showed white and misty in the chill air. She was not accustomed to many things she had encountered here; the lack of fear the barbarians showed her was novel, too, for someone born in an unlucky skin, and yet it only served to make her feel more uneasy, more alien. There was no predicting these men and their strange ways of thinking.

Reciprocity (Foggy-Matt | PG13 | 2,033 words): Upon learning about Daredeivl and Matt's senses, Foggy thinks Matt doesn't need him anymore. This is a lovely rumination on the nature of friendship, both in general and how it's expressed by these two particular characters.

Excerpt:
So then he found out that Matt was some kind of superhero and had never needed him at all, and that had been a blow he was still reeling from. He kept thinking he'd worked past it, and then it would rise up and bite him at the most unexpected times. It wasn't resentment, exactly -- or, well, okay, it had been, but he was pretty sure he was mostly past that. He didn't have a name for what it was. It was some unhappy, dark-edged emotion that jostled and bumped against the rest of Foggy's generally cheerful nature, poking a knife between his ribs when he least expected it.

Because ... of course it wasn't that he felt Matt owed him anything. That was unfair. And he knew, once he was past the initial anger, that it didn't mean their entire friendship had been a lie. That was unfair, too. And he understood why Matt had kept it from him, even if he didn't like it. He couldn't help wishing, sometimes, that he didn't know even now.

Night out, fight out (Alec/Magnus, Jace-Magnus | PG13 | 1,378 words): Magnus runs into Jace at his club one night. This is some good, quality Jace and Magnus interaction.

Excerpt:
Magnus quirks his right back. "You know, as owner of this establishment I take it as a personal failure if you're not having the night of your life."

Jace laughs, looking less despondent than he did a minute ago. "Don't worry, I'm not blaming you. I'm blaming Izzy and Clary. They dragged me out here and then decided to ditch me for some girl talk."

"I didn't know Biscuit could be so harsh." Magnus hides his grin by taking a sip of his drink. "Though I expected nothing less of Isabelle."

Soft Things (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 1,913 words): Foggy confesses to Matt, in a different version of the episode Nelson v. Murdock. It's sweet and soft and comforting.

Excerpt:
"I know you think it's weird. But you should really go for it with Karen. She's into you. Her heart speeds up too." It may be the hardest thing he's ever said, but Foggy deserves all the soft things in life.

"Karen," Foggy repeats, oddly flat.

"Yes? You have no idea how distracting it gets whenever you two are in the same room. You both..." he makes a vague hand gesture meant to evoke the kind of nauseatingly adorable love teenagers are capable of. "It's like two drums beating out of sync."

"Wow. Wow. Okay." Matt smiles grimly and lets his head fall back against the couch. He's always been good at doing the things that hurt the most. "Yeah, not what I'm talking about."

The Lotus Eaters (Harley/Ivy | PG13 | 2,386 words): What happened to Harley and Ivy in the episode "A Better World." I liked getting more insight into the world of the Justice Lords and how things got to the point they were at in the episode.

Excerpt:
"Come on in - Harley?"

Ivy stared at the shaking woman in front of her as her head turned left and right, eyes impossibly wide. Harley was prone to becoming emotional, and the Joker had put the fear of God into her more than once, but this was different. Harley appeared to have lost her wits completely.

"Red," she whispered pitifully, cheeks still running with tears, "can you hide me?"

Poison Ivy wasted no time in taking Harley by the shoulder and pulling her inside, casting a wary eye into the alley before closing the door. She coaxed Harley over to the bed, unnerved when Harley curled into a fetal position and began rocking. "Harley? What - what did he do this time?"

Favorite Mistake (Foggy-Marci | PG13 | 1,569 words): Marci goes to Foggy after something happens. This is a great little moment of them being friends and showcasing their relationship.

Excerpt:
Foggy leads her to the couch. She smells like expensive perfume and alcohol. She's not falling-down drunk, but she's definitely had a few. When he sits her gently down on the couch, she goes willingly, which is very un-Marci-like of her.

She's still holding the now-empty water glass, like she doesn't know where to put it. "Would you like some more water?" he asks. She nods.

By the time he brings her the glass back, she's pulled herself together somewhat. He didn't realize how much she'd resembled the old Marci, the one he knew in college, until that girl was tucked up once again behind the mature Marci's armor. He misses it as soon as he recognizes it's gone.

And I'm Hungry Like The... Thing (Gus-Shawn, Dief | PG13 | 1,215 words): Gus and Shawn meet Dief. This is a nice little bit of fun.

Excerpt:
"Shawn," Gus said patiently. Shawn didn't look at him, just crossed his arms more tightly over his chest and spun his desk chair a few more degrees away from Gus. Gus sighed. "Come on. You know I wasn't serious."

"You sounded serious," Shawn said sulkily.

"I don't really want the wolf to be my new partner, Shawn. Why would I want a wolf as my new partner?" Gus insisted, then gave the wolf an apologetic look.

Canticum Amicitia (Foggy-Matt | G | 1,022 words): College-era fic about Matt contemplating Foggy and singing. This is a really cute little bit of backstory for these two.

Excerpt:
Matt gets the story of Foggy's love of music one night when they're stumbling home from the local dive bar, celebrating passing their first semester of law school. Foggy's leaning against Matt just as much as leading him, belting out some show tune from a play Matt's sure he's never heard of - something about a cat, he thinks, but that's ridiculous because who sings about cats?

And then There Was Three (April/Casey/Raphael | PG13 | 1,874 words): Movie night is awkward for Raph since April and Casey got together. This is a fun get together fic with a nice splash of pining.

Excerpt:
"Dude," Casey grins, and his arm is slung carelessly around April's shoulders, "you, me, Apes and the worst B-movies we can find. Sound good?"

Raph wants to say no. Movie nights with April and Casey is actually code for we just wanted the living room to ourselves so we could make-out and it's a good thing Raph doesn’t really mind. It's uncomfortable and really, really irritating--not to mention confusing (do his brothers feel a little dizzy when they accidentally get a glimpse of a hardcore make-out session?) and Raph seriously wants to say no.

But the stupid little part of his brain that will do anything in the world for these two block-headed, lovable humans is downright pleased, and he gives a small shrug.

(Smile) Like You Mean It (Foggy/Matt | PG13 | 2,323 words): Nowadays, Foggy sounds like he's lying when he tells Matt he loves him. This is just wonderful angsty feels.

Excerpt:
Then Foggy's arm is around his shoulders – a sudden move that, enhanced senses or not, only Foggy has standing permission to make without warning. Matt can't focus on everyone and everything at all times and he has plenty of reasons to be especially wary of unexpected physical contact.

(Right now, though, victorious and safe in their office, Karen laughing and Foggy spinning stories, Foggy's arm around him, Matt feels warm. Content. He feels like maybe he can file this moment away, something good to think back on when he needs it.)

Foggy's heart rate is up, has been for a while now in the excitement of winning the case, but the rhythm suddenly shifts – picks up just a little bit more, and Matt knows what Foggy is going to say, for one frozen instant before he says it:

“I love this guy!”

Matt smiles, and says nothing. He keeps his jaw clenched, to make sure it can't shake.

Faith in Humanity (Relena-Usagi | PG13 | 2,188 words): Relena and Usagi meet as leaders to discuss the fate of Earth. This is a really cool look at what'd it would be like if Usagi came to the Earth in Gundam Wing and how she'd be viewed.

Excerpt:
For the first time, there is a flicker of frost in the representative's eyes. "You mentioned that your proposition would guarantee peace, through the removal of negative energies."

"Purification, yes," Usagi pipes up, with the start of a smile on her lips.

"Perhaps you could clarify the definition of negative energies," Relena states and it is patently clear that this is not a request, but a demand. Even her personal guards seem momentarily taken aback at the sheer audacity of this girl, who can't be more than a teenager, and the way she stares down the table at them, unflinching, and expects an answer.
